Powerful changes in communication and the arts are sweeping the globe. From isolated villages in the Canadian Yukon to tiny hamlets in Africa, humanity is enveloped in a web of images delivered by a variety of new media. There is opportunity for innovative media professionals, scholars and artists to reinvent the way people work, play, create and communicate together in the future. The College of Mass Communication & Media Arts at Southen Illinois University prepares graduate students to take advantage of that opportunity through our four flexible, challenging, college-wide degree programs:
PhD Mass Communication & Media Arts

MA Media Theory & Research
MS Professional Media and Media Managment Studies
Our Mission:
The MCMA Graduate Program represents a unique blend of the arts, humanities, and social sciences, focusing on the study of communication processes and the responsible production of media, and striving for excellence.
